SpeedRead for Chrome
Extract any article into the SpeedRead workspace in one click. Sign in with your Lifetime Premium license — same multi-device subscription as the website (max 5 devices).
How the extension behaves
- Right-click selected text or a page: opens a private RSVP popup immediately. You stay on the current tab.
- Speed read this page: extracts the page and opens the same local reader.
- Open SpeedRead app: intentionally opens the full website for files, OCR, bionic reading, speech and AI.
- Options: contains developer endpoint settings. Normal users can leave the defaults unchanged.
Install in Developer mode
- Download the release zip from the project release folder, or clone the repo and open
chrome-extension/. - Open
chrome://extensionsand enable Developer mode. - Click Load unpacked and select the
chrome-extensiondirectory (unzipped, withmanifest.jsonat the root). - Pin SpeedRead. Optional: right-click a page → Speed read this page, or press Alt+Shift+S.
Install from the Chrome Web Store
- Open this page and choose Install from Chrome Web Store once the public listing is live.
- Chrome handles installation and future updates automatically.
The Store button will appear here after Chrome approves the listing. Until then, use Developer mode above.
Premium sign-in (coming soon)
- Purchase Lifetime Premium on the homepage and copy your license key.
- Open the extension popup → paste the key → Sign in.
- The extension uses one of your five device slots (shown as “Chrome Extension”).
- Sign out releases that slot when you are online.
What we access
- Active tab — only when you click Speed read or use the context menu, to extract article text.
- SpeedRead — license activation API and opening the reader with your session.
- Storage — license key and device session stay on your machine in extension storage.
